Romania's most famous printing house, Monitorul Oficial R.A., has put its money where its mouth is and is expanding its production facilities by adding two machines from KBA-Metronic, a subsidiary of the world's oldest printing press manufacturer, Koenig & Bauer (KBA). This makes Monitorul Oficial the first company in Romania to use a Genius 52UV and the personalizing system Universys.

Fishprint Pty Ltd. in Brighton, Victoria, near the city of Melbourne, has recently started operating its first waterless Genius 52UV five colour offset press from the German printing machine manufacturer KBA-Metronic, so adding a new dimension to its range of products.
The idea of using environmentally friendly cards to replace the plastic ones employed worldwide is nothing new. However, an alternative card made of wood and printed with UV inks on a KBA-Metronic OC 200 single card printing machine is a first for the printing industry and for card technology. Following successful test trials the US company Sustainable Cards LLC, based in Boulder, Colorado, recently decided to launch their environmentally friendly product on the market. This means that nothing stands in the way of installing an OC 200 single card printing machine. The machine will be in operation for Sustainable Cards at their site in Sweden.
The decision in favor of the continuous ink jet alphaJET C from KBA-Metronic was made rather quickly as the solid processing and the substantial reduction of the consumables were the decisive factors in choosing a marking system.

Onlineprinters GmbH extends machine park with Genius 52UV
A Genius 52UV waterless printing machine has been increasing production at Onlineprinters GmbH since early December 2009. This successful printing company, specialising in Internet orders, can now print on special substrates such as plastics, as well as on upgraded and non-absorbent papers to a size of 36 x 52 cm, and to thicknesses of 0.8 mm.
