A number of adjustments, for example ink key adjustment, which have to be performed on conventional offset printing systems are not needed on the Premius. The screen printing unit can be used to apply an intensive white primer prior to CMYK printing. Two screen print units are used to achieve the required thickness on the white color and lacquer coatings. Each print unit has separate UV curing to ensure excellent DVD/CD print quality and outstanding operational reliability on any size print run. A high gloss finish and a UV coating (full or partial cover) are applied to the media. The versatile lacquer unit can also be used to apply special colors.

The high-speed material handling system on the Premius has a big impact on production throughput. The system delivers up to 7,200 perfect copies per hour. The handling system is also very versatile. It can handle single or dual configurations while maintaining perfect register and it can accommodate different media contours.

The vacuum-assisted transport unit is ideal for (partial) white printing and lacquering on optical disks. It transports the discs in a defined position from the feeder to the printing mechanism and then places them on the spindle in the discharge station without any manual intervention.

The plates can be changed automatically on all four offset print units in only five minutes. The machine utilization factor increases significantly even when you are running more than one shift. Fully automatic plate change gives Premius users maximum flexibility and performance. Many customers run three shifts on the Premius to get maximum efficiency from their systems on small print runs. Automatic plate change has another major advantage. You always get absolutely clear contours, optimum color coverage and maximum precision.
