This must not remain a wishful thinking. Company KBA-Metronic AG (Germany) has invented its unique short-inking-unitoffset technology already in the 90´s and has successfully installed several hundred print units world-wide in the card and optical disc market since then.In opposition to the current opinion that offset-printing is a highly sophisticated technology that requests professional operators KBA-Metronics offset technology offers easy operation, short set-up times, quick motif-change and high, photorealistic print quality.
Instead of up to approx. 20 rollers to adjust ink transfer KBA-Metronics short-inking-unit technology only uses five cylinders in a vertical line – easy to operate, easy to adjust, easy to maintain!
By the use of anilox rollers as usually mainly known in flexographic printing KBA-Metronic stands for constant ink transfer and reliable reproducability even after years. By temperature-controlled anilox- and print-cylinders the ink-transfer is adjustable to the requested look and feel of the product decoration. The settings of the parameters can be stored in the memory of the printing machines and thus offer a reliable reproducability, which becomes more and more important especially for repeatable short-run jobs.
