When efficient print technology meets high-precision marking systems, the result is a competitive edge that is "made in Germany". This year at IPEX 2006, KBA-Metronic AG will be putting the focus on extending the production process chain. On show will be a Genius 52UV with an integrated varnishing unit which produce brilliant sheets that are marked by KBA-Metronic's own freely programmable alphaJET Cink jet printer at the delivery point. This arrangement can be used to apply, for example, spoilage markingor numbering and sheet personalization with specific customer data. The traceability of process and production chains in particular is becoming ever more important. With this system you can easily give your customers the information they want.

As a five-color machine for high-end offset printing in B3 format, KBA-Metronic's Genius 52UV is an ideal solution for the fast-growing market for small print runs. Highly automated, with short makeready times, minimum start-up wastage and excellent print quality, it is also an attractive production facility for small printers and digital print shops looking to extend their portfolio of services in order to be able to target more discerning customers. As well as smart cards, mouse mats, stickers and many other original products, the Genius 52UV can also print lenticular sheets, e.g. for 3D pictures – an interesting and profitable new niche application. A Genius 52 in the UV version with varnishing unit will be exhibited at IPEX.

The alphaJET C from KBA-Metronic is based on the continuous-inkjet principle for freely programmable non-contact marking. When compared with the competition, the alphaJET C stands out first and foremost for the low cost of consumables thanks to the integrated solvent recovery process.

The alphaJET C can be used to mark nearly all products and materials with a large number of inks. Whether batch numbers, MHD, logos, barcodes, production data or contents information extending over several lines, the optimized print head produces a 1 to 6-line printed image in consistently high quality wherever it is installed. This means that even the toughest specifications on resolution and font quality can be met. Individual ups can also be personalized with several print heads.

The separate membrane keyboard terminal, which can be placed in an ergonomically advantageous position to suit working arrangements and spatial conditions, makes everyday practical use a whole lot easier.
