Benvenuto in Rho-Milano KBA-Metronic
The IPACK-IMA show is celebrating its 20th birthday at the new Rho-Pero exhibition grounds on the outskirts of Milan. KBA-Metronic has been an active player in the Italian market for 22 years

Anyone who only associates Italy with pasta, pizza and dolce vita fails to appreciate that the country which hosted the Winter Olympics is the silver medal winner in the Western European packaging industry. Italy, which accounts for 4% of worldwide production, is currently number two, just behind Germany. For the 20th time, the latest and most interesting products were on display at Ipack-Ima 2006, making it one of the leading industry events, which attracts exhibitors and visitors from the Mediterranean region and throughout Western Europe.

KBA-Metronic AG together with its Italian partner Baccella Commerciale put its high-tech marking products on display.

KBA-Metronic AG is once again opened its doors to visitors at the event. Together with its Italian partner Baccella Commerciale (Asti, Piemonte), the company showed its high-tech products for marking and logistics applications. Baccella Commerciale and KBA-Metronic have been working together for 22 years, and more than 1,500 marking systems have now been installed in Italy. “Its geography makes Italy a difficult but very attractive market for us, and in the future we plan to add greater focus to our sales activities in the country. Now that Ipack-Ima has moved to a new, more convenient location in Rho-Pero, the international profile of the show has grown significantly, and it now plays a central role in the industry,” explained Marking Products Sales Manager Thorsten Schnatz. Germany is an important trade partner for Italy. Technology ‘made in Germany’ enjoys an excellent reputation in the county, and we intend to take full advantage of that.”

An alphaJET Eink jet printer was used to mark 6 can lids on a rotary table.
