the color TFT display on the all new alphaJET evo ink jet printer offers the ultimate user-friendly operation.
N E W : the alphaJET evo - setting high standards
The ink jet printer alphaJET evo from KBA-Metronic is a new development, designed to meet the needs of the global marketplace. This totally programmable system is based on the continuous ink jet principle suitable for non-contact coding onto most substrates. The alphaJET evo benefits from interfaces such as Ethernet, USB, and RS232 which allows smooth integration into new or existing production processes. The alphaJET evo boasts a robust, IP65-rated stainless steel housing for even the most challenging environmental conditions. The KBA-Metronic designed solvent recovery unit, for dramatically lower solvent usage, is standard on the economical alphaJET evo.
The 10.4” TFT color display leads the operator simply and intuitively via a Windows CE based operating system. Because the tough touch panel tilts and is completely removable, it can be positioned according to the operator’s requirements.
The alphaJET evo’s unique ability to print truetype fonts without loss of speed is of huge importance to its users. This renders outdated logo editors and embedded graphics programs redundant. Logos and graphics can be created with a PC graphics program and transferred as a bitmap to the ink jet printer.

clean, fast, affordable: the icon laser system
N E W : Latest laser coding systems from KBA-Metronic
The economic and compact laser system iCON i-1010 is ideal for small character coding applications for packaging, packed and industrial goods and offers users a real alternative to traditional coding methods.
Thanks to their compact, sleek design with an integral control unit, the KBA-Metronic laser systems are uncomplicated and may be integrated onto most production lines. With continuous and intermediate operation both stationary and moving products can be permanently coded and the results are tamperproof. The laser system is a reliable and environmentally friendly solution without the requirement for additional consumables. It is ideal for the permanent and cost-effective coding of cardboard boxes, ceramic, wood and glass, metal, synthetic materials and paper.
Laser suits a wide spectrum of applications from the simple coding of sell-by dates or batch numbers through to more complex requirements such as graphics, logos, barcodes and data matrix codes. Even coding of even thin materials is possible through the use of special fonts including Crystal Font. Even the strict requirements of the pharmaceutical industry (21 CFR part 11) can be catered for. In addition to an RS232 interface seen on most laser systems, an Ethernet connection permits simple integration into existing networks as well as connection to Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
KBA-Metronic have many years experience supplying laser systems. They also offer air-cooled CO2, Yag and fiber lasers which work without external compressed air or water for cooling.

it’s not magic—KBA-Metronic/Herma cooperation for economic laser label marking
N E W : “State of the art” with laser markable labels
KBA-Metronic presents in cooperation with Herma, the unique system solution for economic and safe coding with laser markable labels.
Precisely in tune with each other, the two systems - the labeller H400 and the CO2 laser K-1000 – perform at speed, consistent reliability and yet economically. Print areas of up to 250x250mm can be achieved either on the fly or whilst a product is stationary.
Compared to alternative technologies, this coding system for laser markable labels operates on a non-contact basis. As laser systems work without consumables, operating costs are greatly reduced. The laser system is installed directly over the rigid beak and the last label can be printed and applied. The system is ideal for applying labels to cartons, outer cases and pallets.

the flexible thermal transfer printer, ttPRINT
N E W : The thermal transfer printer ttPRINT is a flexible all-rounder
The ttPRINT is a continuous and intermittent direct print module, designed for integration into horizontal and vertical packaging machinery. It is used for the coding of packaging materials with freely programmable variable data, in high resolution. Using a separate control unit, in conjunction with a choice of right or left print head versions, the ttPRINT can easily being integrated without complication.
Another advantage of the ttPRINT cassette system is that it takes up to 900m of thermal transfer ribbon, so that the number of ribbon changes and machine downtime is considerably reduced. Moreover, another cost reduction is achieved through a transfer ribbon optimization function: the print head lifts automatically for blank areas in a print message. Hence, ribbon is saved and thus lasts longer. The efficient ttPRINT Multiline is most suited to complex print message applications or indeed the printing of several smaller messages within multi-web packing machines. With three standard print head widths (53, 107 and 128 mm, and a ttPRINT control unit (IP65-rated) –ttPRINT can be adapted to individual customer requirements.

N E W : Fast Hot Foil: hpdSYSTEM vario and nano
Robust and reliable hotstamp units have their place in the industry. However, new to the market are these user-friendly units vario and nano from KBA-Metronic, boasting speeds of up to 1,000 impressions/min. The new hpdSYSTEM range also proudly launches the smallest hot foil unit available on the market today. Galleys typeholders and type can be supplied to all customers. Our in-house engraving studio manufactures hotstamping lettering from brass, steel or magnesium to customers’ specific requirements, in conjunction with application-specific data.

N E W : The feeding system udaFORMAXX for maximum independence
This latest development of our prestigious carton/sleeve feeding system, the udaFORMAXX is ideally suited to the offline coding of sleeves, watch strap bands, cartons and flat packaging materials of to 450 mm x 500 mm. – also with automatic folding - outside the production line becomes a mere child’s play. With only a few adjusrments, the udaFORMAXX can feed different formats and material thicknesses up to 8 mm. The intuitive, user-friendly navigation menue is easily accessible for optimal user comfort and the unit is by default, multilingual. An extended work area is achieved with the pressure point justification by means of a light barrier. The udaFORMAXX can form the basis of a modular offline coding system when integrated with most marking and coding technologies and vision systems, achieving a stand-alone-solution that precisely prints sleeves, cartons, bands at speeds of up to 90 m/min.
